A minute is the point where a clip is long enough to carry one complete idea and still short enough that almost nobody scrolls away before the end. It is also the longest clip that every major short-form feed accepts without trimming it for you: Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts all take up to sixty seconds comfortably, so a one-minute cut can be posted to all three without being re-edited.
That is the practical reason this page exists. A ninety-minute lecture, podcast or match becomes ninety separate uploads, each one already the right length, without you sitting in an editor dragging a playhead ninety times.
It suits material where the value is spread evenly through the recording — lectures, interviews, podcasts, tutorials, sermons, gameplay, match footage. Every minute stands on its own, so every clip is worth posting.
It suits long material less well when only two or three moments actually matter. A forty-minute video with one good joke in it does not need forty clips; it needs one. For that, pick a shorter length and use the moments you want, or cut the source down first.
This page cuts strictly by the clock. Clip one is 0:00 to 1:00, clip two is 1:00 to 2:00, and so on to the end of the file. Nothing is skipped and nothing overlaps, so the clips reassemble into the original video in order.
Because the cut lands on a fixed second rather than on a pause in speech, a sentence can occasionally be split across two clips. If that matters for what you are making, cut at 30 seconds instead and join the two halves you want, or turn Fast Mode off so the moments are chosen by content rather than by the clock.
